The British consumer price index stood unchanged in April, compared to March - at minus 31 points. These figures have entirely come in line with analytical estimates.
As it can be seen from the research of GfK company, the surveyed consumers are not quite optimistically minded.  Aside from that, on Wednesday the British Statistics Agency published a report, according to which the economy of Foggy Albion seems to move back to recession.
Thus, on Wednesday it was declared that the gross domestic product of Great Britain contracted by 0.2% in the first quarter of current year. This downtrend has been fixed after GDP easing by 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2011.
Despite a negative GDP dynamics, the authorities are not going to refuse from the austerity program. According to many experts, these measures are restricting the economic uptrend.
Aside from that, the ongoing inflation advancement outstrips the average pace of wages rising, resulting in earnings shrinkage of population.
