Swiss Franc Spikes Up Versus Majors

During New York mid-day trading on Monday, the Swiss currency spiked up against major rivals. The franc climbed to a new multi-month high against the yen and fresh multi-day highs versus the pound and dollar.

After trading down in early European session, the franc edged up against the Japanese yen during New York morning today. At 11:45 am ET, the franc rose to 91.71 versus the yen from previous session's low of 90.54. This set the highest value since August 6, 2011. As of now, the pair is worth 91.51.

The Swiss currency that touched a 4-day low of 1.4571 against the British pound at around 9:10 am ET advanced thereafter and hit a 6-day high of 1.4459 as of 11:45 am ET. At present, the franc is trading at 1.4477, compared to last week's close of 1.4503.

The franc also spiked up further against its US counterpart in today's New York morning and climbed to a new multi-day high of 0.9094 by about 11:45 am ET. Presently, the pair is trading near 0.9111 from previous session's low of 0.9180.
