The Canadian statistics agency fixed a positive change of retail sales in April. In the preceding month the value was negative - at 0.2%. However, already in April the tendency had changed.
The actual reading matched the outlooks: the sales surged by 0.4% to 4.1% on the annual adjusted basis.
But this favorable data did not see a respond from the currency market.
The Canadian dollar moved slightly against the greenback. The American dollar rate is strongly supported amid the fears about Eurozone structure,
and with a good performance of the US housing sector. Subsequent to a risen number of secondary housing market deals, the sales are improving in the primary one as well. Thus, in April the USA had executed 343 thousand deals of new houses construction.
