Namibia’s annual inflation rate eased to 2.4% in February 2026, down from 2.9% in January, marking the fourth consecutive month of slowing price growth and the lowest level since December 2020. Price increases moderated notably in several categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.6% vs. 1.9% in January), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.4% vs. 3.8%), miscellaneous goods and services (1.3% vs. 1.5%), and clothing and footwear (0.3% vs. 0.7%).

At the same time, declines were recorded in transportation (-1.0% vs. 1.7%) and communications (-1.6% vs. -1.4%). By contrast, inflation accelerated in housing and utilities (4.7% vs. 4.6%), hotels and restaurants (4.8% vs. 3.6%), and recreation and culture (3.9% vs. 3.7%). On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) was unchanged, following a 0.8% increase in the previous month.
