2018.07.3120:56:00UTC+00Malaysia Manufacturing PMI Ticks Higher In July - Nikkei

The manufacturing sector in Malaysia continued to contract in July, albeit at a slower rate, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Wednesday with a five-month high PMI score of 49.7.

That's up from 49.5 in June, although it remains beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Individually, output grew for the first time in five months, but new orders contracted further.

Input prices faced by Malaysian manufacturing companies rose during July, thereby stretching the current period of inflation to 42 months.
