2018.09.1003:42:00UTC+00Finland's Industrial Production Declines In July

Finland's industrial production declined in July largely reflecting the weakness in mining and quarrying, Statistics Finland reported Monday.

Industrial output slid 1.1 percent on month in July, in contrast to a 1.6 percent rise in June and 0.4 percent increase in May.

Mining and quarrying output contracted 5.8 percent and manufacturing output dropped 1.7 percent. Meanwhile, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply rose the most, by 9.6 percent.

On a yearly basis, growth in industrial production eased to 3.3 percent from 5.8 percent in June.

Another report from the statistical office showed that new orders in manufacturing logged a double-digit growth of 12.3 percent, following June's 4.7 percent rise.
