The Nikkei share average regained the 19,000 mark after three weeks, ignited by a global rally and a relief North Korea did not launch another missile to commemorate the anniversary of the foundation of its army.

There were speculations the Asian nation could test a missile to mark the 85th anniversary of its military. These launches are normally done in the morning.

On Tuesday, the stock market index rose 1.1% at 19,079.33 points. The Topix traded at 15,519.21 while the JPX-Nikkei Index 400 was at 13,596.77.
