2016.06.3003:46:00UTC+00Denmark Q1 GDP Growth Revised Up

Denmark's economy expanded more than initially estimated in the three months ended March, latest figures from Statistics Denmark showed Thursday.

Gross domestic product growth for the first quarter was revised to a seasonally adjusted 0.7 percent from 0.5 percent reported earlier. In the fourth quarter of 2015, the rate of increase was 0.1 percent.

The upswing was mainly due to the growth of industry and exports of goods, the agency said.

Household consumption expenditure grew 0.7 percent over the quarter, driven by strong domestic demand.

The annual growth for the first quarter was 0.3 percent, which was revised down from a 0.6 percent rise estimated initially.
