The composite consumer sentiment index (CCSI) of South Korea rose in May. The index was up by 6.8 points to 108 from April. Consumer confidences about current living standards and their future outlook were two and five points higher respectively than in the month before at 92 and 103, showed Bank of Korea.

Consumer confidence related to current domestic economic conditions rose 13 points in May from April to 82. Meanwhile, their future outlook rose 22 points to 111. Consumer sentiment about future household income had risen by three points from April, reaching 102 in May. Meanwhile, sentiment on expected spending stayed the same at 106. The expectation for inflation in the following year came in at 2.
