The Colombian state-owned oil company Ecopetrol reported that more than 45,000 liters of drinking water have been delivered to the population affected by the pollution of the La Inda creek and the Caunapa river, in the municipality of Tumaco, in the Narico department (state), due to a spill caused by an attack on the Trasandino oil pipeline on April 21.

The water has been distributed since Monday in La Espriella and Pueblo Nuevo, both in rural areas of the municipality, with the coordination of the Municipal Council for Risk Management and Disasters of the town.

Currently, there are four tanker trucks available to provide the service, which should be maintained for as long as necessary and while the oil is collected from the water sources, Ecopetrol said.
