Singapore's domestic wholesale trade increased at a slower rate in the three months ended June, figures from the Department of Statistics showed Monday.

At current prices, domestic wholesale sales climbed a seasonally adjusted 2.4 percent sequentially in the second quarter, well below the 6.2 percent rise in the previous quarter.

After removing price effect, overall domestic wholesale trade declined 2.8 percent over the previous quarter.

Excluding petroleum, domestic wholesale trade grew 5.4 percent from the March quarter, when it fell by 5.9 percent.

On an annual basis, domestic wholesale trade advanced 10.3 percent in the second quarter, after a 6.9 percent gain in the preceding quarter.

Foreign wholesale trade expanded 16.3 percent annually and by 1.6 percent quarterly in the three months ended June.
