Norway's consumer price inflation rose to the highest level in three months, data from Statistics Norway showed on Monday.

The consumer price index rose 1.8 percent year-on-year in October, following a 1.5 percent increase in September.

The latest inflation was the highest since July, when it was 1.9 percent.

The core inflation rate was 2.2 percent in October, same as in the previous month. The core CPI remained unchanged from the previous month.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.2 percent in October, after a 0.5 percent rise in the preceding month.

Separate data from the statistical office showed that the producer prices declined 13.8 percent annually in October, following a 10.7 percent fall in September. This was the lowest since April 2016, when prices dropped 14.3 percent.

On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.1 percent in October, after remaining unchanged in the prior month.
