PayPal Denies Plans to Allow Money Transfers to Russia

According to CNews, PayPal representatives refuted a reported possibility of money transfers to Russian and Ukrainian PayPal accounts from September 24.

According to PayPal official Marc Jaugey, Russia and Ukraine are mentioned among countries that can accept payments by mistake. The company does not intend to introduce new services in these two countries in the nearest future.

Last week PayPal published new tariffs on money transfers on its website. It mentioned Russia and Ukraine among countries that would be able to receive money transfers to their PayPal accounts. The tariffs should have come into force on September 24.

At the time of writing, the list was still available on the website without any changes. PayPal entered Russian market in 2006. Russian citizens can transfer money via PayPal but cannot receive payments to their accounts.
