Sales of Windows laptops experienced a 40% decline in the third quarter, according to the data from DigiTimes.
Compared with this time last year, sales of laptops running on Windows from five leading manufacturers plunged by 40% in October. DigiTimes noted that shipments were down by 13% after September sales.
Lenovo posted the biggest drop in sales among laptop manufacturers. HP took second place. Dell turned out to be the only brand that showed growth. However, it managed to score profits mainly because of deterred demand in the sector.
In October 2022, Taiwanese electronics manufacturers Acer and Asus unexpectedly revealed a steep decrease in sales. According to analysts, shipments were down by 20% or even more compared to September. Quanta, the largest MacBook manufacturer, also experienced a decline in shipments.
