The Head of Japanese bank – Mizuho Satoru Nishibori will tender his resignation because of the failure in the information system of the bank, reports Asahi. Mizuho computer network failed to manage all the deposits made to the accounts of victims suffered from the earthquake in March 2011. According to Asahi, about 1.16 million operations amounting to 10 billion dollars was not completed in time. Mizuho ATMs did not function in the entire Japan. It took 10 days for the bank to restore the normal operating process. Now the management of the financial organization is investigating the incident and preparing a program for the case if glitch repeats. Anyway, Nishibori has made the decision on his resignation. Asahi supposes that the manager will resign in June 2011 at the shareholder meeting. It is not the first time when Mizuho faces the “electronic” problems. There was a computer trouble after the merger of three major Japanese banks when Mizuho was established. That time consultants who administrated the integration of the computer systems submitted their resignation. Nowadays Mizuho Bank is included in the cognominal financial group which is on the second position in Japan by the volume of operations.
