Taiwan export orders continued to decline in September, figures from the Ministry of Economic Affairs showed on Monday.

Export orders decreased 4.9 percent year-on-year in September but slower than the 8.3 percent decline logged in August. Exports have been falling since November 2018.

Export orders from the US dropped 1.8 percent on year and that from Europe decreased 8.6 percent. Orders from Mainland and Hong Kong decreased 3 percent.

On a monthly basis, overall export orders gained seasonally adjusted 1.5 percent, in contrast to a 2.4 percent fall in August. On an unadjusted basis, orders advanced 13.7 percent.

In New Taiwan dollar terms, export orders increased 12.7 percent on month and decreased 3.7 percent annually in September.
