Monday, a report by the Bank Of Finland said the current account surplus stood at EUR696 million in October, representing an increase from a surplus of EUR637 million a month earlier.

The goods account posted a surplus of EUR 868 million, higher than the surplus of EUR487 million in September, whereas the services account recorded a deficit of EUR 2 million reversing the surplus of EUR 147 million in the previous month.

The income account surplus declined to EUR 31 million in October from EUR 105 million in September. However, the deficit in the current transfers account widened to EUR 201 million from EUR102 million.

Meanwhile, the balance in the financial account turned into a surplus of EUR 5.8 billion in October from a deficit of EUR 2.7 billion in September.
