Consumer confidence index (CCI)

The consumer confidence index (CCI) is a survey that measures consumer optimism. The index has been calculated since 1967. The indicator was equal to 100 at the beginning. It has limited effect on the market as it can reflect the real market situation. Traditionally, however, it is used to forecast employment trends and the general state of the economy. A rise in the index is seen as a positive factor for a nation's economy.
