According to the Office for National Statistics, in April the unemployment rate in Great Britain has not altered and remained at the level of 4.9% versus the previous month.
The analysts predicted the rise of the unemployment rate to 5%. Aside from that, the United Kingdom unemployment rate, as by ILO, for three months since January until March shrank as compared to three previous months.
Moreover, the jobless claims’ number declined by 13.7 thousand against March value and amounted to 1 million 590 thousand people.
The actual result exceeded the forecasts to a great extent, which in fact presupposed the claims’ increase by 5 thousand.
At the same time, the weekly average earnings did not go in line with the analysts’ expectations and in March appreciated by some 0.6% versus the same three months’ period of the previous year. The experts foresaw the advance by 1%.
