Germany PPI Inflation

In Germany by the end of April the producer prices elevated by 0.2% relatively the previous month. The actual reading came short of predictions of 0.3% increase. For comparison, in March the PPI rose by 0.6% from the February value.
Meanwhile, the annual producer price indicator of the biggest European economy added 2.4% that has also fell short of expectations. Economists were waiting for a 2.5% uptrend.
In the first month of spring the producer prices lifted by 3.3% on the annual basis. Without notice of energy prices, the producer price inflation amounted to 0.2% month-on-month in April
and to 1.5% on the annual basis. In this way, the energy cost has risen most of all for the reporting period. According to the official data, the growth reached 4.5% in relation to 2011 and just 0.1% to the month before.
