U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick announced that President Trump is set to finalize several trade agreements within the next two weeks, ahead of the impending July 9 deadline when previously suspended tariffs could be reinstated. "We’re focusing on the top 10 deals, categorizing them appropriately, after which other countries will follow suit," Lutnick revealed during an interview with Bloomberg News. Although he didn't specify which countries would be involved, Trump previously suggested that a deal with India is nearing completion. If agreements fail to materialize, Trump intends to dispatch letters to various nations, outlining the United States' trade terms. Lutnick mentioned that countries would be systematically classified by July 9, although the president retains the option to extend the deadline to allow for continued negotiations.
