In September 2025, Argentina's trade surplus narrowed to USD 921 million, a slight decline from the USD 982 million reported in the same month the previous year. This change was primarily due to a 20.7% year-over-year increase in imports, totaling USD 7,207 million. The surge in imports was mainly attributed to significant rises in key categories: intermediate goods grew by 1.6%, consumer goods by 45.7%, passenger motor vehicles by 68.6%, and capital goods by 47.7%. Concurrently, exports increased by 16.9%, reaching USD 8,128 million. This export growth was driven by substantial increases in primary products, which rose by 43.0%, and agro-industrial manufactures, which grew by 11.2%. Additionally, industrial manufactures experienced a 3.5% expansion. Cumulatively, for the year-to-date ending in September 2025, Argentina's trade surplus was USD 6,030 million, a significant decrease from the USD 15,057 million surplus observed during the same period in 2024.
