In October 2025, retail sales in Norway experienced a modest increase of 0.1% compared to the previous month, marking a recovery from September's 0.5% decline. This upturn was observed across various sectors, including non-specialised stores which saw a rise of 0.9% after a 0.3% reduction, automotive fuel which inched up by 0.1% following a significant 3.4% drop, and ICT equipment which grew by 0.6% compared to a 1.1% decrease beforehand. Sales of cultural and recreational goods rose by 2%, recovering from a 2.3% decline, and other goods improved by 0.9% after falling by 0.8%. Conversely, there was a decrease in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco, which dropped by 0.7% following a prior increase of 0.9%, and in trade not conducted in stores or stalls, which fell by 0.2% compared to a 1.6% rise earlier. Additionally, sales of other household equipment continued to decline, with a further drop of 1.2% after an 0.8% decrease. On an annual basis, retail activity slowed to 3.3% in October from 3.7% in the previous period.
