In October 2025, Latvia's retail sales experienced a robust growth of 4.8% compared to the same month the previous year, a significant increase from September's 2.7% rise. This was the most substantial expansion in retail activity since November 2022. Fuel and gas station sales accelerated to 3.7%, up from September’s 1%, while sales of information and communication technology equipment soared to 14.7% from 2.2%. Household goods saw a jump to 7.9% from 4.1%, other specialized stores recorded a rise to 7.1% from 6.8%, and non-specialized store sales increased to 3.3% from 1%. However, there was a continued decline in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco, which fell by 19.1% following an 11.2% drop previously. Additionally, there was a slowdown in growth for cultural and recreational goods at 8.6%, down from 12.3%, and for sales outside traditional retail venues, which dipped to 0.2% from 5.8%. Moreover, trade in stalls and markets declined by 2.4%, after previously increasing by 5.8%. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales saw an uplift of 1.2%, recovering from a downwardly revised 0.6% decline in September, and reaching its highest level since July.
