The annual inflation rate in Cape Verde saw an uptick for the first time in three months, reaching 2.1% in November 2025, up from the previous month's ten-month low of 1.6%. This increase was primarily driven by a rebound in transportation costs, which rose by 0.1% compared to a drop of 1.4% previously, and in food and non-alcoholic beverages, which increased by 1.2% following a 0.9% decline in October — the highest level in three months. Further acceleration was observed in the prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which jumped to 6.5% from 5.7%, as well as in the hotel, restaurant, and café sector, which saw a slight increase from 9.6% to 9.7%. Miscellaneous goods and services also experienced a mild rise from 3.0% to 3.2%. Conversely, inflation eased for clothing and footwear, declining from 15% to 12%, furnishings and household equipment, slightly down from 4.7% to 4.6%, and recreation and culture, which decreased from 1.1% to 0.8%. On a month-to-month basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.4% in November after a 0.1% decrease in the prior month, marking the most significant rise in four months.
