12.01.202609:11:36UTC+00Cyprus Current Account Gap Smallest Since 2021

Cyprus' current account reported a deficit of EUR 95 million in the third quarter of 2025, a reduction from the EUR 116.1 million deficit recorded in the same period of the previous year. This represents the smallest deficit since the fourth quarter of 2021, largely thanks to an increased surplus in the services account, which rose to EUR 2,885.4 million from EUR 2,637.3 million the previous year. The rise in services surplus is attributed to greater gains in travel, financial services, and charges for intellectual property usage not included elsewhere. On the other hand, the goods account deficit expanded to EUR 1,748.3 million from EUR 1,684.8 million. Furthermore, the primary income account saw its deficit increase to EUR 1,117.3 million from EUR 964.8 million, alongside the secondary income account, which grew to EUR 114.8 million from EUR 103.8 million.
