In December 2025, consumer prices in Argentina increased by 2.8% from the previous month, surpassing the 2.5% rise recorded in November and also exceeding the projected 2.5%. This uptick was observed across various sectors: recreation and culture saw a price increase of 2.5% compared to November’s 2.4%; restaurants and hotels experienced a more notable rise, climbing to 3.2% from 2.7%. Costs associated with housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels consistently rose by 3.4%. Communication costs also showed an upward trend, increasing to 3.3% from 2.7%. Additionally, there was a marked increase in transportation costs, rising to 4.0% from the previous 3.0%. Clothing and footwear prices went up to 1.1% from 0.5%, while alcoholic beverages and tobacco jumped to 2.8% from 1.2%. The home equipment and maintenance sector saw prices rise to 2.0% from 1.1%. Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose to 3.1%, up from 2.4%. Annually, consumer prices increased by 31.5%, a slight rise from the 31.4% observed in November, indicating a modest inflationary trend following the period of reduced inflation in early 2024.
