19.02.202612:00:00UTC+00Oman’s January Inflation Eases to 1.4% Year-on-Year, Slipping from December’s 1.6%

Oman’s consumer price inflation moderated at the start of 2026, with the January Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising 1.4% year-on-year, down from 1.6% in December 2025. The data, updated on 19 February 2026, indicate a slight cooling in price pressures compared with the final month of last year.

Both readings are based on year-on-year comparisons: the January 2026 figure reflects the change in prices versus January a year earlier, while December 2025 was measured against December of the previous year. The marginal decline in the annual inflation rate suggests that overall price growth is easing, which may offer some relief to consumers and provide policymakers with additional room to assess the trajectory of inflation going into the rest of 2026.
