The TAIEX, the benchmark index of the Taiwan Stock Exchange, climbed 448 points, or 1.3%, to 35,309 around midday, extending its winning streak to a fourth consecutive session and reaching its highest level since February 26. The broader market tracked an overnight rally on Wall Street as global equities moved into a consolidation phase following Wednesday’s relief rebound.

Risk appetite was further supported by signs of de-escalation in the Middle East after reports that Israel signaled openness to negotiations with Lebanon. Sentiment also improved on the back of fresh data from China: producer prices on the mainland rose for the first time in three years, even as consumer price inflation came in below expectations.

Nearly all sectors traded higher, with notable gains in electronic technology, manufacturing, and technology services. Among the standout performers were Win Win Precision Tech, Tyntek, Chiefteck, and Sixxon Tech, each jumping 10%. Meanwhile, chipmaker TSMC — which represents more than 40% of the exchange’s total market capitalization — advanced 1.5%. For the week, the TAIEX is on track for a 1.3% gain.
