28.07.202610:00:00UTC+00Irish Retail Sales Growth Cools in June, Easing to 0.6% Year-on-Year

Ireland’s retail sector lost some momentum in June, with annual sales growth slowing to 0.6% compared with the same month a year earlier, down from a revised 0.8% year-on-year increase recorded in May 2026. The latest figures, updated on 28 July 2026, indicate a modest deceleration in consumer activity as the middle of the year approached.

Both the May and June readings are based on year-over-year comparisons, measuring how retail sales changed versus the corresponding month in 2025. While the data still point to positive growth, the slip from May’s pace suggests a more cautious consumer environment, with retailers likely to face a more challenging landscape as they plan for the second half of 2026.
