30.07.202610:00:00UTC+00Ireland’s Harmonised Inflation Eases Slightly to 3.1% in July

Ireland’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) edged down to 3.1% year-on-year in July 2026, from 3.2% in June, according to data updated on 30 July 2026. The indicator measures price growth in Ireland using the EU-harmonised methodology, allowing for consistent comparison with other euro area economies.

The latest figure indicates a marginal cooling in inflationary pressures, as July’s price growth remains above the 2% level commonly associated with price stability but continues its gradual easing trend. The current 3.1% reading reflects the change in prices compared with July of the previous year, while June’s 3.2% rate was measured against June of the prior year.

While the moderation is slight, the downward move may be viewed as a cautiously positive sign for households and policymakers, suggesting that the pace of consumer price increases is stabilising, even if still elevated by historical standards. Investors and analysts will be watching subsequent releases closely for confirmation of a sustained disinflation trend in the Irish economy.
