Lithuania’s current account surplus widened sharply to EUR 437.5 million in June 2026, up from EUR 191.5 million in the same month a year earlier. This improvement was mainly driven by a stronger services balance and a reversal in secondary income.

The services account surplus expanded to EUR 985.4 million from EUR 791.9 million, while the secondary income account swung from a deficit of EUR 17.9 million to a surplus of EUR 346.5 million.

These gains were partly offset by a deterioration in the goods and primary income balances. The goods account deficit deepened to EUR 695.1 million from EUR 408.5 million, largely reflecting a stronger rise in imports than in exports. Imports increased by EUR 824.7 million to EUR 4,175.1 million, compared with a EUR 538.1 million rise in exports to EUR 3,480 million. The primary income deficit also widened, reaching EUR 199.4 million compared with EUR 174 million a year earlier.
