Israel’s consumer confidence weakened in August 2026, with the Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) dropping to 46.77 from 50.80 in July, according to data updated on 13 August 2026.

The month‑over‑month decline pushes the index back below the 50-point threshold that often serves as a rough dividing line between more optimistic and more pessimistic consumer sentiment. The August reading is measured against July’s level, while the July figure itself reflected a comparison with June, highlighting a deterioration in confidence on a sequential monthly basis.

The PCSI tracks households’ views on current and future financial conditions, the job market and the broader economic outlook. The latest figures suggest that Israeli consumers have grown more cautious heading into late summer, potentially signaling softer household spending if the trend persists.
