Producer input prices in New Zealand rose 2.9% quarter-on-quarter in the three months to June 2026, accelerating from a 1.4% increase in the previous quarter and exceeding market expectations of 1.3% growth. This marked the fastest pace of input price inflation since Q1 2025. The largest contributors were rail, water, air, and other transport services, which climbed 15.6%; electricity and gas supply, up 9.8%; and road transport, which increased 12.2%.
