In June 2026, average weekly earnings for non-farm payroll employees in Canada grew 3.4% year-on-year to C$1,344, following a downwardly revised 3.3% increase in May. The largest wage gains were seen in utilities (12.6%), finance and insurance (12.5%), and management of companies and enterprises (11.9%). By contrast, earnings fell in real estate and rental and leasing, which recorded a 5.3% decline.

Across the provinces and territories, Nova Scotia posted the strongest annual increase in average weekly earnings (6.8%), followed by Nunavut (6.1%), New Brunswick (4.4%), Ontario (3.9%), and British Columbia (3.7%). The Northwest Territories was the only jurisdiction to register a decline, with earnings down 1.3%.

On a monthly basis, average weekly earnings rose 0.6% in June, while average weekly hours worked were virtually unchanged at 33.4 hours.
