Slovenia’s seasonally adjusted manufacturing confidence indicator rose to -2 in September 2026 from -4 in August, returning to July’s level, which marked the least pessimistic reading since August 2022. Nonetheless, it remained slightly below its long-term average of -1.9. Production expectations strengthened notably, climbing to 12 from 6 in August, while expectations for selling prices increased to 8 from 6. By contrast, the measure of uncertainty rose to 32 from 27. Stocks of finished products and current production levels were unchanged, both holding at 5. The decline in export order books eased, with the balance improving to -14 from -16, and overall order books also improved, to -12 from -14. Expected employment remained stable at 9, whereas the labour hoarding indicator declined to 5 from 7. Outside the manufacturing sector, confidence weakened in both retail trade and services, and was unchanged in construction.
