US equity futures rose on Friday as the recent surge in Treasury yields paused, offering some relief from the tight financial conditions weighing on the corporate sector. Futures for the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Nasdaq 100 were all up about 0.5%. Oil and fuel prices retreated after reports that the US and Iran had made progress toward an agreement that would lift naval blockades on tankers in the Persian Gulf and ease economic sanctions on Tehran. In turn, benchmark borrowing costs, which had hit multi-decade highs on Thursday, stopped climbing.

AI-related stocks advanced, particularly in hardware, with Marvell, AMD, SanDisk, and Applied Materials each gaining more than 2% in premarket trading. GE Vernova rose 2% as investors focused on its exposure to data center expansion. Meta was on track to end the week nearly 17% higher, building on the launch of its Muse AI agents with a series of hardware announcements, including wearable agent controllers, new VR headsets, and smart glasses.
