Producer prices for Philippine manufacturing rose by 3.1% year-on-year in August 2026, edging up from the 3.0% increases recorded in both June and July. The largest upward pressure came from coke and refined petroleum products, where prices climbed 2.3% (vs 1.8% in July), accounting for 35.2% of the overall increase in the growth rate.

Other key contributors were rubber and plastic products (2.2% vs 1.1% previously) and food products (1.6% vs 1.5%), with a particularly strong rise in the processing and preserving of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks (5.0% vs 4.6%). Prices also continued to rise for computer, electronic, and optical products (6.1% vs 6.0%), chemicals and chemical products (5.8% vs 5.7%), beverages (3.2% vs 3.1%), and other non-metallic mineral products (3.2% vs 2.9%).

Meanwhile, price growth held steady for basic metals (5.6%) and transport equipment (2.7%). On a monthly basis, the Producer Price Index (PPI) increased by 0.3% in August, following flat readings in both June and July. Over the January–August period, producer prices were up by 2.5%.
