30.09.202606:52:46UTC+00French Producer Prices Rise 1% in August

French domestic producer prices rose by 1.0% month-on-month in August 2026, after a 1.3% increase in July. Prices of manufactured goods were up 0.4%, easing from a 0.7% rise in the previous month, while prices in mining and quarrying, energy, and water advanced 2.9% following a 3.6% gain.

Prices of coke and refined petroleum products climbed 5.2%, moderating from a 14.0% surge in July. The increase reflected higher global oil prices in August, though the appreciation of the euro against the dollar helped limit the overall rise. Costs also increased for electrical and electronic equipment, computers, and machinery (+0.4% vs +0.2% in July), whereas prices for transport equipment were unchanged after a 0.3% increase.

Prices of other manufactured products were stable, following a 0.1% decline in the prior month, and food product prices were flat after a 0.2% decrease. On a year-on-year basis, domestic producer prices rose 4.8% in August, up from a 3.5% increase in July, marking the fastest annual pace since May 2023.
