15.10.202606:30:00UTC+00Swiss Producer Prices Ease Decline in September, Hinting at Stabilizing Cost Pressures

Switzerland’s Producer Price Index (PPI) showed a moderating decline in September 2026, suggesting that downward pressure on factory-gate prices may be easing. Year-over-year, the PPI stood at -0.2% in September, an improvement from -0.7% in August 2026.

The data, updated on 15 October 2026, indicate that while producer prices remain below their levels of a year earlier, the pace of decline is slowing. In August, the index compared to the same month a year before had fallen by 0.7%, whereas September’s year-over-year change narrowed to a 0.2% decrease. This trajectory may signal that input cost deflation for Swiss producers is losing momentum, a development that could gradually feed through to more stable pricing conditions in the broader economy.
