US stock futures declined on Friday, with S&P 500 futures down 0.3%, Nasdaq 100 futures off 0.1% and Dow Jones futures lower by about 300 points. The move followed a sharp sell-off on Thursday, when the S&P 500 fell 1.2% in its steepest one-day drop since July, while the Nasdaq Composite sank 2.6% in its worst session since June.

Risk-off sentiment remained in place as elevated oil prices and rising fears of a broader conflict in the Middle East drove demand for safe-haven assets. In premarket trading, Microsoft slipped 0.5% and Meta lost 0.6%, while American Express fell 2% despite posting earnings that beat expectations.

The recent rotation out of AI-related names persisted, though at a more moderate pace, with chipmakers attempting to recover some ground. Nvidia edged up 0.3%, and Micron rose 1.6%.

On the week, the S&P 500 was roughly flat, while the Nasdaq Composite was down 0.5%. By contrast, the Dow Jones was on track for a weekly gain of about 1.7%.
