The HCOB Eurozone Manufacturing PMI experienced a rise to 50.7 in August 2025, improving from a preliminary estimate of 50.5 and surpassing July’s figure of 49.8. This indicates the first monthly enhancement in manufacturing conditions since June 2022. Growth was predominantly driven by Greece, with Spain closely following, while the Netherlands and Ireland saw modest improvements. Meanwhile, France and Italy returned to slight expansions, and the contractions in Germany and Austria lessened. The output growth was the most robust since March 2022, and for the first time in nearly three and a half years, new orders increased. Despite these recovery signs, job reductions continued, and outstanding work declined for the 39th month in a row. Regarding prices, input costs rose, albeit slightly, for the first time since March, whereas output prices kept falling. Business confidence remained nearly unchanged from July.
