In September 2025, Mexico's economic activity index experienced a year-on-year increase of 0.7%. This marked a recovery from the previous month's decline of 0.5%, though slightly under the anticipated 0.8% rise. The primary sector demonstrated substantial growth, surging by 8.2%, buoyed by a 12.8% jump in agriculture and a 2.3% uplift in livestock. Meanwhile, the tertiary sector expanded by 2%, driven by notable performances in business support, waste management, and remediation services, which increased by 9.2%. Professional and technical services rose by 8.7%, and health care and social assistance grew by 6.1%. However, there was a downturn in the secondary sector, which contracted by 2.4%. This decline was evident across various industries, including construction, which saw a drop of 7.9%, mining declined by 3.1%, manufacturing decreased by 0.8%, and utilities dipped by 0.1%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, there was a contraction of 0.6% in economic activity, reversing the 0.4% gain observed in August.
