In November 2025, Cyprus witnessed a 7.6% increase in retail sales compared to the same month in the previous year. This marks a deceleration from October's over three-year peak growth of 10.1%. The slowdown can largely be attributed to less robust sales in several categories: non-specialized stores selling food, beverages, and tobacco saw a growth of 8.0%, down from 9.3% in October; other household equipment sales grew by 6.2%, compared to 12.8% previously; clothing and footwear sales increased by 14.1%, a decrease from 24.4%; and pharmaceuticals, orthopedic goods, and cosmetics sales rose by 3.0%, down from 5.9%. Additionally, the category encompassing flowers, plants, watches, jewelry, optical goods, and second-hand goods experienced a growth of 5.1%, compared to the previous 6.8%. Sales of automotive fuel saw a decline, dropping by 3.6% compared to a previous increase of 3.5%. Conversely, some sectors experienced accelerated growth, such as specialized stores for food, beverages, and tobacco, which saw sales rise by 22.5%, up from 15.3%, and information and communication equipment, which grew by 9.8%, from a previous 12.9%. Cumulatively, retail sales for the year have increased by 7.8%.
