Retail sales in Bulgaria increased by 3.1% in November 2025 compared to the same month the previous year, a slowdown from the substantial 7.4% rise seen in October. This growth in retail activity is the slowest observed in seven months, particularly as the sales for non-food products, excluding fuel, grew at a gentler pace of 5.9% compared to October's 12.9%. Similarly, sales for textiles, clothing, footwear, and leather goods rose by 5.1%, a decrease from the previous 24% surge. There was also a moderation in the sales of audio, video, computer and communication equipment, which grew by 14.7% down from October's 20.8%, while pharmaceutical and medical goods, cosmetics, and toiletries saw just a 2.1% increase compared to 10.3% previously. Conversely, there was a notable decline in mail order, telephone, or internet sales, which fell by 8.8% following a 1.4% rise, and food, beverages, and tobacco sales decreased by 2% after a slight 0.2% drop previously. However, there was an upswing in sales for automotive fuel and lubricants, which recorded a 10.3% increase, up from 7.8%, and sales in non-specialized stores saw an 8.9% rise, from 7.6% in October. On a monthly basis, retail sales experienced a 0.4% decline in November, negating the upwardly revised 0.5% growth from the past period.
