Market participants analyzed the unprecedented 360 billion cubic feet (Bcf) drawn from U.S. underground natural gas storage last week, which resulted in inventories falling 27 Bcf below the five-year average, a stark contrast from the 143 Bcf surplus recorded the prior week. In tandem, production is showing signs of recovery, with output in the Lower 48 states climbing to around 106.6 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) in early February, up from January levels.
