Canada’s S&P/TSX Composite Index advanced about 0.4% on Monday, moving above the 33,900 mark for the first time, as strong gains in gold and energy producers more than offset weakness in major technology names. Gold miners led the rally, with Agnico Eagle, Barrick Gold, and Wheaton Precious Metals rising between 2.7% and 3.6%, supported by bullion hitting fresh highs on safe-haven demand amid shifting US trade policies.
