Slovakia’s EU-normalised consumer price index (CPI) accelerated slightly at the start of 2026, with year-over-year inflation rising to 4.30% in January from 4.10% in December 2025. The latest reading indicates that, compared with January a year earlier, consumer prices in Slovakia increased at a somewhat faster pace than the annual rate recorded in December. The previous figure for December 2025 had also been calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing that month’s prices with those of December a year before.
