Azerbaijan’s monthly inflation eased for the third consecutive month, slowing to 0.3% in April 2026 from 0.5% in March, marking the lowest rate in five months. The deceleration was largely due to a pronounced slowdown in prices for food, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco, which rose by just 0.3% after a 1% increase in the previous month. Prices for non-food products inched up 0.2%, matching the pace in March, with gains recorded for items such as cement, sawn timber, furniture, and detergents, while jewellery prices declined. Service prices rose slightly faster, with services inflation edging up to 0.3% from 0.2%, driven by higher costs for dental care and restaurant and café services, partly offset by lower international air passenger transport fares. On a yearly basis, consumer prices increased 5.5%, the slowest rate in four months, compared with 5.6% in March.
