US equity futures climbed to record highs on Tuesday ahead of the week’s open, buoyed by signs of a potential weekend breakthrough in negotiations between Washington and Tehran. Futures linked to the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Dow Jones Industrial Average rose more than 0.5%, pushing each to new peaks.

President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio indicated they are close to reaching an agreement that would include concessions aimed at restoring energy trade through the Strait of Hormuz. Such a deal would be expected to ease oil prices and help mitigate the impact of elevated inflation. Equities largely held their gains even after renewed clashes between US and Iranian forces, which injected fresh uncertainty into the outlook for a final accord.

Shares of AI hyperscalers and compute infrastructure providers were broadly higher, extending a run that has helped drive major US stock indices this year. Tesla, Nvidia, and Alphabet each traded about 1% higher in premarket activity. Elsewhere, Eli Lilly advanced 1.3% after announcing the acquisition of vaccine makers. By contrast, Melrose fell 8% after authorities ordered precautionary evacuations at its GKN facility.
